A Trip to Zion National Park

I was recently able to take a trip to Zion National Park....what a beautiful area! Spectacular views no matter where you look! Unfortunately I was only able to spend a few hours in the park...it rained the whole time. I plan on going back someday when I have more time to spend hiking around and taking photos.

Here are a few of my latest paintings. I have been playing around with a couple old vacation photos that I have always liked. They are both from Colorado trip I took with my wife a few years ago. The Garden of the Gods park and the adobe house from near the Manitou Cliff Dwellings site.




The third picture is from Winterset, Iowa. Clark's Tower...I have always liked the landscape setting of the tower. I have other photos from the top of the tower that I may paint soon. It overlooks the river valley to the South and always has spectacular views in the fall.



The fourth one is from a photo my Dad took while out on an early morning bicycle ride. A peaceful and calm scene of Moffit Reservoir.

Dan Cross Watercolor Starts...

Well...here goes....Hopefully I will be able to update this blog with recent works and works in progress. I am a beginning watercolorist.
